Past and present Blue Peter presenters will join Fiona Bruce and the team of Antiques Roadshow experts at MediaCityUK on Thursday, 30 August to help celebrate the 60th anniversary of the world’s longest running children’s television programme.
Peter Purves and Anthea Turner will join Lindsey Russell and Radzi Chinyanganya and they’ve been digging into the Blue Peter archives to bring along memorabilia to be valued by the Antiques Roadshow experts.
Anthea Turner said: “I love the Antiques Roadshow. As I’m from Stoke on Trent, with its amazing pottery industry, I used to visit antiques fairs as a child and loved them.
“I can’t wait to come to Media City and I’ll even bring Tracy Island with me!”
Gill Tierney, executive producer of Antiques Roadshow, said: “We’re incredibly excited to bring together two iconic and much loved BBC programmes.
“Over the past 60 years Blue Peter has accumulated some amazing television memorabilia and our experts are looking forward to seeing it all.
‘As well as celebrating Blue Peter’s 60th anniversary, Antiques Roadshow invites thousands of people to bring along their own family heirlooms and car boot bargains.
“Our team of experts are on hand to help visitors discover the hidden history of their objects – you never know, it might just be your item that turns out to be something very special and potentially very valuable!”
Visitors are welcome to just turn up on the day: doors open at 9.30am and last entry is at 5pm. Entry to the show is free, everyone is welcome, and no tickets or pre-registration are required.
After you’ve had your items valued come and join Peter Purves, Anthea Turner, Lindsay and Radzi for some meet and greet sessions throughout the day.
