The Landing launches new events and courses programme to help growing tech businesses
The Landing, MediaCityUK’s digital and tech enterprise hub, has announced details of its autumn business support programme which is open to any Greater Manchester start-up, scale-up or SME. All of them are either free or are fully funded for qualifying businesses and will cover key issues such as apprenticeships, remote working, business development and raising investment.
Some of the sessions are being delivered in partnership with the North West chapter of TiE, the world’s largest entrepreneurs network. TiE, which was established in 1992 and now operates in 18 countries, is committed to helping mentor and develop the next generation of entrepreneurial success stories.
The TiE events include Angels@TheLanding, taking place on October 27th offering participants the chance to practice pitching their ideas, concepts and business plans to a team of experienced investors and get practical feedback regarding improving their presentation skills.
October and November will also see the first Landing events delivered in partnership with the Business Growth Hub including three, two-day workshops. These are fully funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) which means that for companies who meet certain criteria the training is paid for. The ERDF funded events at The Landing are designed to be intensive, real-world training sessions geared towards helping companies tackle barriers to growth. They include Scale-Up Bootcamp (October 20-21) and Technical Sales (November 17-18).
Another course being delivered through the ERDF programme is User Testing (November 3-4). This is a special workshop focussing on the role of User Experience (UX) in product development where participants will gain an understanding of how user testing can support product optimisation and how to run their own UX testing for prototypes.
Maya Dibley, The Landing’s Head of Programmes and Partnerships said: “The Landing has an outstanding track record in delivering high quality, informative events which are calibrated to help support and nurture fast-growing SMEs and ambitious entrepreneurs. Over the next few months this trend is set to continue, and it’s fantastic to have teamed up with partners such as TiE and the Business Growth Hub to help tackle a range of business-critical issues through one-to-one mentoring, advice sessions and hands-on practical workshops.”
Full details of all the forthcoming events and training sessions at The Landing, including the ERDF funding criteria where appropriate, can be found on The Landing’s website http://www.thelanding.org.uk/
