Ziferblat to open new MediaCityUK co-working space
MediaCityUK’s newest creative co-working space, Tomorrow will become home to Manchester’s second branch of pay-per-minute sitting room, Ziferblat.
Following its award-winning success on Edge Street in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, the independent will occupy 6,000 sq ft over Tomorrow’s ground floor and mezzanine levels, providing a relaxed, creative environment for MediaCityUK’s thriving business community.
A unique blend of café culture and office working, Ziferblat’s concept is that customers pay for the time they spend in the space rather than the food and drink they consume. With a homely interior design, the new branch will be split between a public sitting room and co-working space with separate private meeting rooms and event spaces.
MediaCityUK’s asset manager, Lynn Haime, said: “Tomorrow will be home to some of the region’s most innovative and exciting SMEs across the broadcast, digital, media and tech sectors. What’s great about Ziferblat is that its quirky concept lends itself perfectly to creatives – it’s relaxed, welcoming and something a little bit different, and we’re confident it’s going to be a great addition to the MediaCityUK community.”
Before the fit-out commences, Ziferblat is launching a consultation with businesses and residents of MediaCityUK so the ideas and requirements can be incorporated into its interior design.
Colin Shenton, CEO of Ziferblat UK and Ireland said: “We are really excited to be launching the MediaCityUK Ziferblat in early 2017 and bringing our unique offering to the hub of digital and media creatives who live and work there. It’s important to us that every branch is different and meets the requirements of those visiting us, which is why we are taking this collaborative approach and consulting occupiers and residents before commencing the fit-out – we’re open to ideas and welcome feedback.”
Ziferblat MediaCityUK will be the brand’s 17th branch internationally, with plans for more venues in Manchester and across the UK within the next 12 months. The Tomorrow building, which launched at the end of September comprises eight floors of creative workspace and a 112-bed Premier Inn over a further four floors. In addition to the Ziferblat letting, agreements have been reached with several other companies, including digital and tech agencies to occupy space, which will be announced later this year.
