Social marketing agency, Social Sense, has completed its move into MediaCityUK’s White Tower, as it enters an exciting new phase with the delivery of two new major projects in the areas of dementia and domestic abuse.
From its new base in the Arrive workspace, the projects will see the creation and launch of a new Lived-Experience wellbeing app as well as a specialist housing project to support the victims of domestic abuse who are ready to move on. Both initiatives are currently in pilot and are due to be rolled out across Greater Manchester and beyond from October onwards.
Since Social Sense’s launch in February 2011, its programmes have directly engaged over 200,000 people in the UK and across Europe. The agency’s established in-house programmes include those to reduce smoking, alcohol, knife crime and obesity. In 2014, it established a programme to deliver mindfulness at scale, which has now reached over 20,000 teachers and adults.
Managing Director, Gary Lovatt explains why MediaCityUK was the eventual choice for his business: “MediaCityUK is a well-established name among PLCs – but it’s their commitment to supporting and nurturing local SMEs that really impressed us. There’s a fantastic hub of similar sized neighbouring businesses and this offers a great deal of added value in terms of networking, collaboration and support.
“Additionally, their flexibility and support throughout such an uncertain period has been first class and we’re really looking forward to developing our relationship with the team over the coming years.”
MediaCityUK Property Director, Chris Reay, said: “Social Sense is a fantastic addition to our business community and we’re delighted to welcome the team. Despite the challenges over the past few months it’s really positive to see a business continue to thrive and commit to new space in the heart of MediaCityUK.”
MediaCityUK is a joint venture partnership between Peel L&P and Legal and General Capital.
