MediaCityUK strengthens its in-house communications team
Emma Green has been appointed as Social Media Executive for MediaCityUK reporting to and working closely with Josie Cahill, who has recently joined MediaCityUK as Head of Stakeholder Engagement on a 12-month secondment from BBC North.
Emma joins the media, creative and digital hub from the Northern Powerhouse Partnership where she was Digital Marketing Apprentice, following a placement as Digital Marketing Manager for the University Technical College (UTC) in MediaCityUK.
As Social Media Executive, Emma will be responsible for the implementation, delivery and management of MediaCityUK’s social media strategy and campaigns.
Emma said: “Through my work at the Northern Powerhouse Partnership and at the UTC I had built a strong network within the MediaCityUK community and became passionate about what the destination brings to the region in terms of talent, opportunity and culture. I’m looking forward to sharing the many exciting events and rich content which comes out of MediaCityUK with our social audience and growing the number of followers even further.”
Emma will work closely with Josie in further establishing MediaCityUK as a destination as it moves into the next phase of its development which will see its footprint double over the next 10 years.
Josie, who worked on the project team for the BBC’s move to MediaCityUK, as Head of Internal Communications for BBC Nations & Regions and latterly produced live BBC Events in the North of England will be leading on MediaCityUK’s stakeholder engagement strategy, working closely with the key partners on the destination’s future vision.
She said: ‘Having worked on the team responsible for the BBC’s move to MediaCityUK, I’m passionate about its continued success and excited about what we can achieve by collaborating with our key partners.’
