Immersiveye founder commissioned for first MediaCity docuseries
15/10/2024

Award winning Director and Founder of Manchester based Immersiveye, Steve Moyler, has been commissioned by MediaCity to direct, produce and edit its first docuseries – ‘Made in MediaCity’.
Working from MediaCity’s creative technology hub – Dreamlab and collaborating with BAFTA award winning Director of Photography Guy Meachin, the first in the series – ‘The Time Capsule’ features Simon Marsland, Founder of Toasted Productions and The Dig Media Archive.
Inspired by the cinematic style of the movie ‘Everything everywhere all at once’ which reflects Toasted’s rich variety of content, archive and projects – the debut video tells the story of Simon’s MediaCity journey while featuring rare footage captured by legendary videographer Jack Henry Moore throughout the 1960s and 70s.
Steve Moyler said: “In the ‘The Time Capsule’ I wanted to capture how Toasted – one of MediaCity’s first occupiers, are in the business of time collection – guardians of moments in pop culture history, archived and digitised for the youth of tomorrow. This time capsule of a business is surrounded by the echoes of our musical legends and more. Stories of history, collected with love and are stored right in the heart of MediaCity.”
Caroline Aikman, Director of Marketing, Brand and Place at MediaCity said: “This is the first time MediaCity has commissioned its own docuseries to tell the stories of the people behind the most fascinating creative and digital projects made in MediaCity. We knew Steve’s creative approach to telling our stories would reflect MediaCity’s reputation as the home of future media and immersive technologies in a unique and watchable way.”
With over 25 years’ experience, Steve, is a multi-disciplined creative, director, producer and editor delivering both short and long form documentaries, music videos and social content for global clients including Microsoft, Sony Music and Adidas. He has now taken all his experience in film, graphics, motion and illustration to venture into Virtual Production and AI through Immersiveye and The Dreamlab, all based here at MediaCity.
