Quays Culture is looking for the people of Greater Manchester to be part of its annual digital light festival, Lightwaves 2017, at MediaCityUK this December.
Collaborating with Blackpool Illuminations, a suspended structure will light up Salford Quays, portraying 100 faces and places of Greater Manchester. Quays Culture is calling on people from each of the county’s boroughs, including Manchester, Bolton, Bury, Oldham, Rochdale, Salford, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford and Wigan to capture 10 images from each of the 10 boroughs, of either a face or a place.
Portraits can include anyone from family and friends, young and old, to shop owners and notable figures, from the famed to the unknown. And ‘places’ could capture anything from a special street, architecture, schools, iconic building, and landmark attraction in the area. These stills will be illuminated to create a visual story of each borough, through its inhabitants and locations.
Those that are interested can send images directly to art@quaysculture.com.
Deadline date for submissions is 6th November 2017, and a panel from Quays Culture will select the images for public show.
