The We Invented the Weekend festival is inviting DJs to get involved in The Weekend Residents.
We Invented the Weekend is a bold and imaginative free festival for the North, from Salford, taking place on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th September 2022. The brand-new two-day event will throw open MediaCity and Salford Quays’ spaces and places, to celebrate the joy of free time, taking in sports, music, comedy, theatre, dance, workshops, talks, food, charity, wellness, crafts and more.
The festival is jointly funded by Salford City Council, MediaCityUK and Arts Council England. Content partners include BBC, The RHS Bridgewater, The Lowry, Sounds From The Other City, Walk The Plank and Science and Industry Museum.
We Invented The Weekend is free and open to all; the programme is culture led with something for everyone. Based on footfall figures for previous events at MediaCity we are expecting approx 50,000 visitors per day, made up of groups of friends, intergenerational families and couples.
As a key part of the music line up site, we’re creating The Weekend Residents – a roster of DJs across all genres who live and / or work in MediaCity and the Quays. The Weekend Residents will bring the vibe to the site, filling it with music from open to close. We can offer a set fee of £50 per 60 – 90 minute set.
If you’re interested in joining The Weekend Residents, please complete the form below before midday on Friday 29th of July.
We look forward to hearing from you!
