Healthy Cities Design Conference

The Healthy City Design 2025 International Congress is an international forum for exchanging knowledge on designing healthy and sustainable cities and communities. It brings together researchers, policymakers, practitioners, developers, investors and community voices to share findings, discuss innovative solutions, and foster investment in initiatives that improve public health and well-being.

Themed, ‘Transitions to health: Impact through policy, planning and investment’, the congress is produced by SALUS Global Knowledge Exchange, in collaboration with the Helen Hamlyn Centre for Design at the Royal College of Art, Salford City Council and MediaCity, and takes place at the Lowry in MediaCity, Salford, Greater Manchester, from 14-15 October.

Exploring how innovation to promote health in housing, urban planning, real estate, workplace, transport and mobility, healthcare, education and other key sectors, can underpin economic growth and social cohesion, the congress provides opportunities for delegates from interdisciplinary backgrounds and sectors to network, develop new skills, and collaborate on projects.

Supported by a diverse programme of content, including keynote talks, panel discussions, interactive workshops, videos+posters presentations, and world-leading speakers sharing the latest research findings, innovations and real-world projects, a foundational principle of the congress is to reduce health inequalities and promote health equity, making sure opportunities are available for all communities to thrive.

The event also includes the Healthy City Design Awards, which celebrate innovative projects and research that positively impact the health of urban populations.
