Trailblazing creatives from Salford and Greater Manchester will ignite Day 00 of BEYOND 2025 with the Creative Mixer – a bold, immersive event celebrating the next generation of digital artists who are redefining storytelling, technology, and design in the UK.
Hosted by broadcaster Nihal Arthanayake, this high-energy launch event on Monday, 24 November @ 5pm, MediaCity Hot House, invites audiences to experience a dynamic blend of live performances, interactive installations, and insightful lightening talks with groundbreaking artists.
Attendees can expect live performances and creative interventions from; Salford alumni, Noelle Nurdin – an electronic producer and AV artist, currently pushing the boundaries of spatial audio and immersive tech. Writer and performer Tamsin Middleton aka ViceVera. ViceVera will give a live performance of ‘Expanded Emotion’ while showcasing her proto-type stage-wear adorned with addressable LEDs, which responds to her voice. Developed in collab with Jayne Sayer.
WETRIP, presented as part of the FaT OuT 25 programme – curated and produced by From the Other – co director, Emma Thompson, will share how immersive installations like WETRIP are being made more inclusive for deaf audiences through haptic floors and spatial audio.
Speakers will also include the award-winning Garth Williams, Creative Director and Founder of Safety Catch, who will be showcasing his expanded virtual production toolkit – ‘The Ward Round’ inspired by a year spent as a psychiatric inpatient.
In partnership with the CreaTech Artist CoLab, a programme delivered with Salford City Council, University of Salford, and GM Arts: Better Connected, the event will feature:
• Isabella So & Hattie Kongaunruan – Best Before Memory (sculptural installation)
• Joe O’Rourke & Lizzie King – I Want You Here (painting reimagined with projected local footage)
• Lizzie King – Wetlands/Floodland (audience-participatory audio installation)
• Kirsty Barlow & Sara Wolff – Quiet Space (sensory-inclusive visual and sound installation)
• Mishka Henner – The Conductor (atmospheric data transformed into sound and image)
The Creative Mixer will follow a series of panels featuring leaders, academics, creators and innovators discussing a variety of topics from AI – what works, and what doesn’t, from those putting AI to work, to how CreaTech is supporting people to ‘live well’ as well as the question are we unlocking Greater Manchester’s full creative potential?
