The car park managed by Excel Parking Ltd has achieved both the prestigious Park Mark Plus and Park Access EV awards. This is a fantastic achievement recognising that its parking facilities have measures in place that actively deter crime and the fear of crime in car parks
Building on the well-regarded Safer Parking Scheme’s Park Mark award, Park Mark Plus recognises only the highest quality car parks. Park Mark is the accredited logo of the Safer Parking Scheme, which is given to parking facilities that have achieved the requirements of a risk assessment conducted by the Police and the British Parking Association. Their assessments include management and maintenance of the facility, checking that there are appropriate levels of surveillance, lighting, signage, and cleanliness. All these are known to reduce the opportunity for crime and thus create a safer environment for the motorist and their vehicle.
The award of Park Mark Plus demonstrates that a facility provides police-approved accredited parking and has reached the standards of Park Access and a range of environmental, structural, operational and customer service criteria.
The award of the Park Access EV demonstrates that electric vehicle charging facilities are accessible and inclusive for everyone, including those with disabilities
Park Mark® is the accredited logo of the Safer Parking Scheme. It is given to parking facilities that have achieved the requirements of a risk assessment conducted by the Police and the British Parking Association. Their assessments include management and maintenance of the facility, checking that there are appropriate levels of surveillance, lighting, signage, and cleanliness. All these are known to reduce the opportunity for crime and thus create a safer environment for the motorist and their vehicle.
Car parks with a Park Mark® can use signage featuring the distinctive Park Mark® tick so that drivers know exactly where to go for safe parking. Facilities that have received this award have seen a drop in vehicle-related crime of over 80%.
Neil Beverley, Property Manager – Media City UK commented: We are delighted to have received the Park Mark Plus and Park Access EV accreditations for our multi storey car park here at MediaCityUK, reflecting our continued commitment to secure and safe parking within our car parks and our parking provision for disabled drivers.
Mark Osmond, BPA Area Manager said: “I am thoroughly delighted that Media City UK has achieved the Park Mark Plus award, demonstrating their hard work and commitment to provide a safe environment for users.”
